What will be the last blog of 2020

It’s been a strange year to say the least!

I just wanted to personally thank all our great customers for your support and kind words for our small Grimsby company. This has made Joel and I feel like proud parents, ha.

A big thank you also goes to Richard and Rebecca for their tireless work; we saw more orders in one day than we saw in a month before Covid-19.

Also Daniel, working and developing our website which I think is the best fresh fish website on the Internet (I may be biased!) and Lindsay, who worked on all our copywriting until she had a baby (Robin), my nephew by the way ?

On a personal level, we are proud of the way Ish Fish has grown exponentially this year but seeing all the great local businesses struggling and unemployment going through the roof, it does feel a little hollow.

Helping the community has been massive for us. In 2020 Ish Fish:

?Delivered and supplied fresh fish to 3 schools on behalf of Fish Heroes. This was to help the food students gain knowledge on how to cook fish and to encourage them to eat more fish.

?Gave out free food during the school break. This was part of Marcus Rashford’s initiative; never mind the politics, no child should ever go hungry. This was one of our busiest weeks and it was a massive eye-opener.

?Therefore, this is something we will carry on doing over Christmas with Zane Powles who is an MBE by the way (top bloke),. He is bringing together local companies to fund a Charity Hamper he is giving out for  underprivileged families. We could not be happier to help.

?Throughout August, we gave away free packs of fish with every single order – Salmon, Crab and Haddock to pass on to friends, family and neighbours. This was our Show You Care campaign, so you could say thank you to the people in your life with fresh, nutritional fish.

New Building

Lastly, as you may have seen we moved into our new purpose-built home with everything under one roof. This is already making us a better company and it aligns with Ish Fish eco-friendly views and forward-thinking for the future.

Right, that’s enough from me and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year… Let’s see out 2020 and Carpe Diem in 2021 ??

Enjoy,
