As we sign the year off at Ish Fish, I would like to start off by thanking every single one of you for all of your support this year with our small Grimsby company. We don’t take this lightly, and all the great feedback we receive through emails and phone calls means a lot to us!

Like most people, it hasn’t been an easy year with restrictions, transportation issues and fish prices reaching an almost record high. However, at Ish Fish, we like to look forwards not backwards and we have some great news to kickstart 2022.

Joel and I set ourselves the mission to get the country eating more nutritional fresh fish and I definitely think we changed the game with our recyclable packaging but, we don’t want to stop there. This is because one of the biggest stumbling blocks we see is the minimum spend as it’s a lot of fish being bought and therefore, a lot of space being taken up in the fridge/freezer so we understand this may put some people off. The reason we have the minimum spend in place is because our packaging is 3x higher compared to some other companies who use polystyrene and dried ice; it would’ve been harder for us to build a business having a lower minimum spend.

Now time for the good news… We think we have found a solution without having to change our ethos! Working alongside our friends at Wool Cool, we have a fantastic alternative to sending smaller orders (see image).

These work the same way as the lining in our boxes and still keep your fish fresh and cool during delivery. The packaging can also go straight into the recycling, just like the boxes.

So, as a result of this – the minimum spend will be £20.00 (Starting January 2022) so you can enjoy more fresh fish on a regular basis. Ish Fish will be the first company to do this and once again, leading the way in our market.

Lastly, the next delivery date after Friday 24th December is Tuesday 11th January when the Grimsby fish markets reopen, but you can still order anytime over the Christmas period.

All I have to say now is have a great Christmas and New Year. We love you all and thank you again for being on this journey with us, we appreciate all of you.

See you in 2022,

Garry
